Document Summarizer Core Functionality
| The core functionality of the Document
Summarizer consists in generating brief and precise summaries,
allowing the user to grasp the main idea without reading
the entire document. |

| End-user functions make
it possible to |
- process a document with Preformator (a preprocessing
tool, converting and formatting documents from various
file formats to the format required for engaging in
semantic processing);
- set the maximum size of the summary in symbols (the
size of the generated summary will not exceed what is
necessary);
- set the maximum number of sentences (the generated
summary will consist of the required number of sentences
irrespective of the number of symbols);
- receive a summary for an indexed document from the
document’s database;
- receive a summary for a non-indexed document from
various types of files;
- use the Summary Analyzer tool – an instrument
making it possible to view the previous results of the
Summarizer and to summarize a document using the other
settings of the Document Summarizer.
